Aging and Disability Resource Center

The Aging and Disability Resource Center is a central source of reliable and objective information and assistance regarding long-term care needs for older adults, persons with disabilities and their caregivers living in the Anchorage bowl. (907) 343-7770. AHD, 2nd Floor. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. Closed daily from 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch.

Emergency Outreach Services

Funded by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Emergency Solutions Grant program provides stabilization services and emergency financial assistance to individuals and families to prevent homelessness.

Alaska Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Intervention Program

The Alaska Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention Program (ADVSAIP) is a partnership with the Municipal Prosecutors Office, AHD, Abused Women's Aid in Crisis, Standing Together Against Rape, Victims for Justice, and the Anchorage Police Department.  The ADVSAIP partners work together to hold defendants accountable and to increase victim safety.

Anchorage Safety Center and Patrol

AHD manages the contract for the Anchorage Safety Patrol (ASP) and Safety Center (ASC). The ASP response service is a medical model and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Vans are staffed with a state-certified Emergency Medical Technician.  To request ASP services, call 343-4006.

Senior Citizens Advisory Commission

The Senior Citizens Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Anchorage Senior Activity Center, 1300 East 19th Ave., Anchorage, Alaska, 99501.​
