Your 2019 Ballot Return Envelope, containing the security envelope with your voted ballot, requires 1 first class stamp - a Forever Stamp - to mail your ballot envelope.

On March 6, 2019, after the ballots were printed, the Municipal Clerk was alerted to an issue and made a decision to include an insert with the 2019 Vote by Mail ballot packets that Ron Stafford – a candidate for School Board – Seat B – may have an issue with his filing status with the Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC). UPDATED INFORMATION: On March 7, 2019, APOC advised the Municipal Clerk that Mr. Stafford was in compliance with APOC’s filing requirements. Election Center Virtual Tour - Take a tour of the Vote By Mail process and Municipal Election Center!
The election is a by-mail election. Traditional polling places will not be open and are not an option for voting on Election Day.
Ballot packages will be mailed to qualified, registered voters on March 12th, which is twenty-one (21) days before Election Day. Ballot packages will be mailed to your address of record in the State of Alaska Voter Registration database.
