Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places Ordinance

An ordinance prohibiting smoking in public places (AMC 16.65) was passed by the Municipal Assembly on June 20th, 2000 and took effect on December 31, 2000. Certain facilities were exempt from this regulation.

In 2006, AMC 16.65 was amended to prohibit smoking in all public places.

Effective July 1, 2007, smoking is prohibited in all public places including bars. A copy of the ordinance can be downloaded here.
