Closure of City Hall Public Counter for Treasury Department

To help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community, the Municipality of Anchorage is temporarily closing its main customer counter area at City Hall until further notice.  Please check the City's website for future updates at regarding various impacts associated with the COVID-19 virus.  This office closure notice affects in-person, normal business operations tied to the Treasury Division.  The Treasury Department will be going virtual starting at 8:00am Wednesday, March 18th until further notice. The Treasury Division of the Municipal Finance Department is responsible for billing, collecting and auditing the City's tax revenues. The Treasury Division practices fair, equitable, accurate and timely operating procedures in accordance with state and local taxation laws. 

Tax revenues provide primary funding for city services of benefit to Anchorage residents, businesses and visitors, including:

  • Public safety
  • Education
  • Roads and transportation
  • Health and human services
  • Cultural and recreational services
