General Payment Information
Forms of Payment
- Checks, money orders, cashier checks or traveler checks may be mailed or paid in person. Write your full account number or case number on your check.
- Cash must be paid in person. Do not mail cash.
- Credit card payments may only be made by phone or online through our third party provider – Official Payments Corp.
- Credit card payments are not accepted in-person at Treasury’s City Hall customer service counter for any type of balance due to MOA.

Payment by Mail
To ensure prompt application of your payment to your account, please use the envelope provided with your bill or mark the envelope with the type of tax or fine being paid.

Credit Card Payment Online or By Phone
We are pleased to offer electronic payment by credit card through Official Payments Corporation, a nationally recognized company servicing state and local governments who offer credit cards as a payment option for state and local taxes, fines and fees.
Official Payments Corporation charges a convenience fee of approximately 2.75% for this service. The Municipality of Anchorage does not receive any portion of this fee. For example:
- $13.75 for a $500 payment
- $27.50 for a $1,000 payment
- $55.00 for a $2,000 payment
When paying online or by phone, you will need to have your account number or case number readily available.
Payment is valid only if a confirmation number is received when the transaction is complete. If paying online, print/save the confirmation page as proof of payment.
To pay delinquent fees & fines (scofflaw):
- Phone, call 1-800-272-9829 and enter JURISDICTION CODE 1201 when prompted.

Important: do not include spaces or dashes when entering the case number.
To pay real property taxes by:

To complete the transaction by phone or credit card online, you must be ready to provide your "Account Number." Your account number contains thirteen (13) digits and is included on billing statements sent by the Municipality.
To pay mobile home or business personal property taxes:
- Phone, call 1-800-272-9829 and enter JURISDICTION CODE 1201 when prompted.
- Credit card online, click here
To pay your mobile home or business property tax you must select the "Local" tax option and then the "Property Tax" option.
To complete the transaction by either of these two methods, you must be ready to provide your "Account Number." Your account number contains thirteen (13) digits and is included on billing statements sent by the Municipality.
To pay aircraft registration tax:
- Phone, call 1-800-272-9829 and enter JURISDICTION CODE 1201 when prompted.
- Credit card online, click here
To pay your aircraft registration tax you must select the "Local" tax option and then the “Aircraft Registration Tax” option.
To complete the transaction by either of these two methods, you must be ready to provide your "Account Number." Your account number contains seven (7) digits and is included on billing statements sent by the Municipality.
