Congestion Management Process

The Congestion Management Process is required in metropolitan areas with populations over 200,000, called Transportation Management Areas (TMAs). AMATS is a TMA. Congestion management aims to improve the performance and reliability of the transportation system and reduce the negative effects of congestion on moving people and goods. ​​​Use the link f​​or more information on the federal CMP guidelines for this process.
