Thank you Anchorage, we had an amazing season and we hope to see you all again in 2022!
The activities start at 6:00 p.m. and the race starts at 6:30 p.m.
Watch this page for updates and information as race dates, courses, and ways to follow the fun as Anchorage kicks off another fun season of community health and fitness.
For many Anchorage families, the Bonny Sosa Tuesday Night Race Series is a fall tradition, as these fun runs are like no other in Anchorage. Come rain, snow, sleet, hail or wind, these races are rarely cancelled. Drawing competitive runners and casual trail joggers alike, the wildly popular TNR Series is always an adventure.
Each week (Tuesday), three separate race courses are set at a pre-determined location around town, with routes known only to certain parks and recreation staff and volunteer course-setting wizards, some of whom have earned reputations for mapping unique ways to run or walk up, down, and through Anchorage parks and trails. While the Munchkin and Farm Leagues usually stay on heavily-used trails, the Lightning League is a different story. Lightning courses have been known to test your resolve.
|Munchkin League||1-3K||Kids & Kids at Heart|
|Farm League||3-10K ||Recreational Runners|
|Lightning League||4-12K||Competitive Runners|
Feeling cooped up this year but don't want to pop your social bubble? Stay socially distanced with the virtual Bonny Sosa Tuesday Night Races series! Join us for our virtual races and compete against your friends times while keeping your social bubble tighter than the laces on your shoes.
The virtual races will take place over the course of 2 days out of the week. Course will be set on Tuesday night and pulled on Thursday. The Races will be held on September 14 through October 26th, 2021. On Tuesday night at 6pm, you will receive a link to the Map and a link to the Google Form Doc where you can submit your times. Due to non-officiated times, virtual runners will not be eligible for the Skinny Raven shoe drawing. Other prizes will be available.
Bonny Sosa was a longtime fitness advocate and founder/director of Healthy Futures, an organization dedicated toward inspiring youth to stay active every day. After her death, Bonny's name became attached to the Tuesday Night Race brand in 2008, passing on her 'can do' attitude, positive energy, and passion for life. A frontrunner for healthy living in the Anchorage community, Bonny was a friend to all, and her namesake event is now one of the most popular races in Alaska, with thousands of Anchorage residents and visitors flocking to designated parks and trails each week to participate.
