The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is the first stop for learning about programs and services in the community that can support you or your loved ones. We are a one-stop resource center, where trained Resource Specialists are ready to answer your questions and help you understand and navigate a wide range of available options.
Our goal is to promote choice, independence, and confidence for anyone seeking information about long-term care. We advocate for seniors and people with disabilities by providing current, reliable, and unbiased guidance. You don't have to navigate the maze of services alone - we're here to walk with you, every step of the way.

The ADRC is here to support you, and we work hard to respond as quickly as possible. While we are not an emergency service provider, you can expect us to:

Services & Support
Options Counseling
If you're unsure where to begin, our Resource Specialists can walk you through your available options. Options Counseling provides an objective, in-depth conversation to help you understand resources, plan for the future, and make informed decisions for yourself or loved ones.
Application Assistance
Resource Specialists can help you complete applications for programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, Public Assistance, and other benefits. We can also answer questions and guide you through available resources.
Assistance is also available for qualified individuals or families applying to Emergency Outreach Services.
Person-Centered Intake (PCI)
A PCI is the first step in applying for Alaska's Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid Waivers, which support the independence of Alaskans by helping them receive care.
Resource Specialists conduct PCIs over the phone to identify services and supports you may be eligible for, including options outside the waiver system.
Please note: A PCI does not determine eligibility; it is one part of the application process.
Emergency Outreach Services
The ADRC partners with local organizations to support individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Resource Specialists may assist with programs such as:
- Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG) - Support for individuals experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness
- Coins Can Count Program (AWWU) - Utility assistance funded by community donations
- Chugach Electric Utility Assistance - Support for customers with shut-off notices

Services at Chugach Manor / Chugach View
Chugach Manor and Chugach View are senior and accessible low-income housing communities owned and operated by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC).
The ADRC Service Coordinator supports more than 260 residents with case management, advocacy, and resource access to help maintain independent living.
Please note: Applications must be submitted through AHFC's Family Investment Center.

Senior Citizens Advisory Commission
The ADRC provides staffing support for the Municipality of Anchorage's Senior Citizens Advisory Commission. The commission advocates for the needs of older adults and offers recommendations to the Mayor and Assembly on senior-related issues.
