NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of July 14, 2020. The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali:
Ordinance No. AO 2020-58, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Table 21.05-1: Table of Allowed Uses, to allow homeless and transient shelters in the B3 Zoning District by conditional use; and waiving Planning and Zoning Commission Review, Assembly Members Weddleton and Zaletel and Mayor Berkowitz.
HOW TO TESTIFY: Due to current federal, state, and local health department guidance and emergency measures, the number of people allowed in the Assembly Chambers will be limited. Please check the Assembly website at www.muni.org/Assembly to see protocols on testifying in person. The Assembly encourages anyone wishing to provide Public Testimony to email written comments to Testimony@anchorageak.gov by 2:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. These comments will become part of the meeting record. In the subject line of the email, please tell us which agenda item you are providing testimony for (Example: 13.A. Ordinance No. AO 2020‑15). If you wish to provide testimony on the phone, email Testimony@anchorageak.gov by 2:00 p.m. the day of the meeting with your Name, Phone Number, Agenda Item Number/Title for which you wish to provide testimony and Subject Line: Phone Testimony. When the Assembly reaches your agenda item, the Clerk will phone you at the number you have provided. You will have 3 minutes to provide testimony on each item you wish to speak on.
