Project Management and Engineering DepartmentMelinda T. Kohlhaas, P.E., Director and Municipal Engineer.​​​PM&​E designs and builds public works projects that provide a safe, convenient, and efficient transportation network throughout Anchorage. Voter-approved bonds fund the majority of these projects, which include sidewalks, transit facilities, roads, trails, and drainage. Other key responsibilities are storm water run-off management, right of way acquisition for municipal projects, and administration of Road Improvement District projects.​
