About the Parks and Recreation Commission​

​The Anchorage Parks and Recreation Commission consists of nine commissioners. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held​ the 2nd Thursday of every month, 6 p.m. at the Spenard Recre​ation Cente​r, located at 2020 W. 48th Avenue.
The public is welcome to attend.​

IMPORTANT NOTE

Public comment before the commission will follow M​unicipal policies and procedures ​​​for public hearings including:

  • Members of the public ​may only comment one (1) time during the public hearing process on an item.
  • Public comment will be timed and each member of the public will be allowed to speak for 3 minutes.
  • ​Groups or organizations may appoint one person to represent t​he organization. The group or organization representative will be allowed 5 minutes to comment.
