Checklist for Retrieving Vehicle:
To retrieve your vehicle, the registered owner must first inquire abouth the Muni Administrative Fee by calling (907) 343-4575 or email at civilimpounds@muni.org during normal business hours M-F 12pm-4pm.
Then, you must call Vulcan Towing at (907) 349-8697 to schedule an appointment for retrieval.

- You pay the Municipality Administrative fee at Vulcan's office. Note that Vulcan accepts cash only for payment.

1. Impounded Vehicle
2. Forfeiture Vehicle
3. Declined Vehicle
- Please contact Vulcan to inquire about the impound costs for towing and daily storage fees, as well as to schedule an appointment for retrieving your vehicle
Note that Vulcan accepts cash only for payment. - Release from Municipality: After you call the impound department to inquire about your Muni Fees, they will email Vulcan for your vehicle's release paperwork.
- Documentation required
- Driver's License, State ID, or Passport
- Licensed Driver (If you do not have a valid driver's license)
- Copy of the Current Vehicle Registration (if you don't have a copy, please contact the Division of Motor Vehicles for assistance or Vulcan offers a registration reprint service for a fee of $15.00)
- Copy of the Current Car Insurance Card
- ALL transaction, including the payment of Municipality of Anchorage administrative fees, are handled at Vulcan Towing.
- All Municipality of Anchorage Administrative fees , as well as the towing and storage fees for impounded vehicles, must be paid at Vulcan Towing in Cash Only*
