The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is the starting point of discovering the variety of programs in the community that are available to assist you. The ADRC serves as a one-stop resource center, where our trained and certified Resource Specialists are available to answer your questions, and help you understand and navigate a wide variety of resources.
The ADRC works to promote choice and independence for those who need information or assistance regarding long-term care services. All ADRC staff advocate for seniors and those with disabilities. We strive to ensure everyone has the most current, reliable, and unbiased information regarding long-term care options and services. Our job is to prevent those seeking care supports from navigating the maze of services alone.

What We Do
Application Assistance
If you need help managing an application for any program, give us a call. Resource Specialists can help answer any questions or concerns about public and private benefit programs. Our staff will help you navigate resources and access available programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, Public Assistance, and more.
Options Counseling
Don't know where to start, or what you need? Our Resource Specialists perform Options Counseling, where available resources will be presented to you.
Options Counseling can assist with planning for your or your loved one's future through an objective, in-depth conversation. ADRC staff will help you understand your options and guide you to make the best decision for yourself or your loved ones.
Person-Centered Intake (PCI)
The Person-Centered Intake is the first step in the process of applying for Alaska's Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers. These are Medicaid waivers available to support the independence of Alaskans who experience physical or developmetal disabilities. The State of Alaska's Department of Health and Social Services website has a brief overview of these waivers.
Resource Specialists conduct PCIs over the phone. Person-Centered Intakes are interviews that identify services and supports you may be eligible for, and options that may be best suited to meet your needs (also known as Options Counseling). The PCI does not determine eligibility for any waivers. It is only the first step in applying.
Please Note: The Aging and Disability Resource Center is not an emergency service provider. The ADRC helps those requesting services as soon as possible. In order to do that, we do not prioritize service regardless of situation. All requests are handled in the order they are received. Responses may take up to 3 business days. Thank you for your understanding.
Services at Chugach Manor / Chugach View
The Chugach Manor and Chugach View are senior and accessible low-income housing apartments owned and operated by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC). These housing apartments are subsidized by the federal government's Housing and Urban Development Division (HUD).
Within Chugach Manor and Chugach View, the ADRC Service Coordinator supports over 260 seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Service Coordinator's role is to be the Resource Specialist for these residents, and to assist with case management, advocacy, and accessing resources that enable them to maintain independent living.
Chugach Manor and Chugach View do not accept applications at their locations. Interested applicants must complete and submit applications to Alaska Housing Finance Corporation's Family Investment Center.

Emergency Outreach Services
The Aging and Disability Resource Center collaborates with multiple organizations to provide assistance for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. A Resource Specialist will work with you to determine eligibility for these programs and assist with application completion.
Programs our dedicated Resource Specialists may assist you with include:
- Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG) - A program designed to assist those experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness by providing services and emergency financial assistance
- Coins Can Count Program from Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility - Funded by customers who volunteer to round up their monthly bill to the next whole dollar, this program assists qualifying customers with their water and wastewater bills.
- Utility Assistance Program for Chugach Electric Association - Funding directly from Chugach Electric Association helps qualifying customers with power shut-off notices.
