Designated Safe Parking
On April 18, 2024, the Anchorage Assembly passed AO No. 2024-40(S) which established designated safe parking sites to be established for those temporarily living in their vehicles within the municipality. Anchorage Municipal Code AMC 16.120 outlines the requirements to become a designated safe parking site. Designated Safe Parking is operated seasonally from April to October each year when temperatures allow individuals to safely remain in their vehicles.

Request to Provide Services within a Municipal Shelter
Organizations who would like to provide any service(s) within a municipally owned or municipally operated shelter must have a Memorandum of Agreement in place before providing service(s).
To request a Memorandum of Agreement to provide service(s) in the shelter(s), please complete the Agreement Request Form.
Email the completed form to
housingandhomelessservices@anchorageak.gov. After a form has been submitted a member of AHD's Grants and Contracts Program will contact you with any follow up questions and necessary next steps. Please allow 6-8 weeks for written agreements to be drafted.
