Property Tax Relief Community Dialogues

Dear resident,

I have a question for you:  How do we pay for the services that we depend on?

Services such as Police, Fire, Snow Removal, and the Anchorage School District.

Property taxes are the largest source of revenue that pays for city services. Each year the city's costs increase and we've worked hard to cover them by becoming more efficient and finding efficiencies.  But the Municipality is reaching a point where paying for increased costs for services that the community has come to expect primarily will fall on property tax payers.

Should the Municipality examine ways to provide property tax relief by changing the current mix of taxes or leave things as they currently are?  The community discussions being convened are to learn what you and your neighbors think.
