​​Complex Behavioral Health Needs Community Task Force

Since May 2023, health care providers, advocates, public servants, and community members have been collaborating to identify priorities and hurdles to address the needs of people with complex behavioral health issues in Anchorage who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. The Task Force issued a preliminary report of its findings on June 1, present its findings to state policy makers at a leadership summit on August 29, and released a final report on September 5.

The Task Force was created by the Anchorage Assembly and is charged with identifying immediate needs and evaluating and presenting mid-to-long-term solutions to Municipal and State agencies to support individuals in our community who have complex behavioral health needs.​​​

Task Force Recommendations

​​The Complex Behavioral Health Needs Community Task Force issued its preliminary recommendations on September 5 and the report was accepted by the Anchorage Assembly at the September 12 Regular Meeting. The findings were also shared with the Governor, statewide leaders and Anchorage legislators.

The Leadership Summit was held on Tuesday, August 29 from 10am to 1pm at the Mountain View Library Community Room, 120 Bragaw St, Anchorage, AK 99508.
