NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of May 6, 2025. The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali:
Resolution No. AR 2025-123, a resolution of the Municipality of Anchorage appropriating one million dollars ($1,000,000) from the Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation Operating Fund (162000), Fund Balance to the Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation Operating Fund (162000) as a transfer, and appropriating said transfer to the Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Projects Fund (462800) to pay the cost of turf installation on two ballfields in Loretta French Park, and amending the 2025 Capital Improvement Budget, all within the Parks and Recreation Department.
Ordinance No. AO 2025-54, an ordinance approving annexation of properties within South Lakewood Hills Subdivision according to Plat P-355 BLK 1 LT 1, Plat P BLK 3 LT 1, BLK 3 LT 2, BLK 3 LT 3, BLK 3 LT 4, BLK 1 LT 5 E2, BLK 3 LT 5, and BLK 4 LT 3 to the Upper O'Malley Limited Road Service Area pursuant to Alaska Statute 29.35.450(C)(3), and amend the Upper O'Malley Limited Road Service Area (LRSA) boundaries in Anchorage Municipal Code Section 27.30.700, effective retroactively as of January 1, 2025. Ordinance No. AO 2025-55, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending the Anchorage Municipal Code by adding a new chapter protecting food security by declaring unlawful any restrictive covenants on real property prohibiting grocery or food store uses. Assembly Chair Constant and Assembly Member Volland.
Ordinance No. AO 2025-57, an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code sections 3.20.070 and 26.30.025 to clarify responsibilities within the Municipality for implementing the 1991 Fish and Wildlife Agreement. Assembly Chair Constant and Vice-Chari Zaletel.
Resolution No. AR 2025-140, A RESOLUTION OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY STATING ITS CONDITIONAL PROTEST REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF LOCATION OF PACKAGE STORE LICENSE #2386 FOR HOLIDAY ALASKA, LLC DBA CIRCLE K LOCATED AT 1501 ABBOTT ROAD, ANCHORAGE, AK 99507; PENDING SATISFACTION OF MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL CLERK TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTION. Resolution No. AR 2025-139, A RESOLUTION OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY STATING ITS CONDITIONAL PROTEST REGARDING A NEW RESTAURANT/EATING PLACE LICENSE #16324 FOR UNCLE JOE’S INC. DBA UNCLE JOE’S PIZZERIA LOCATED AT 6839 JEWEL LAKE ROAD, ANCHORAGE, AK 99502; PENDING SATISFACTION OF MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL CLERK TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTION. Resolution No. AR 2025-137, A RESOLUTION OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY STATING ITS CONDITIONAL PROTEST REGARDING THE RENEWAL OF RESTAURANT/EATING PLACE LICENSE #5635 FOR PHO LENA EAST, LLC DBA PHO LENA DOWNTOWN LOCATED AT 137 W. 5TH AVENUE, ANCHORAGE, AK 99501; PENDING SATISFACTION OF MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL CLERK TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTION. Resolution No. AR 2025-138, A RESOLUTION OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY STATING ITS CONDITIONAL PROTEST REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF RESTAURANT/EATING PLACE LICENSE #5635 FOR JALOS, INC. DBA ALASKAN BURGER & BREW DOWNTOWN LOCATED AT 137 W. 5TH AVENUE, ANCHORAGE, AK 99501; PENDING SATISFACTION OF MUNICIPAL REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL CLERK TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTION. How to Testify: The Assembly receives public comments during Audience Participation, as well as public testimony on all open public hearing items.
The public may participate in person, through written comments, or by phone. There is no sign-up for in-person testimony - the Chair will invite the public to speak on a first come basis during the Assembly Meeting. Please do not sign up to provide phone testimony if you plan to attend in person.
