NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of May 26, 2026. The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali:
Ordinance No. AO 2026-59, an ordinance amending the zoning map and approving the rezoning of approximately 1.47 acres from CE-B-3 SL (Chugiak-Eagle River General Business with Special Limitations) District to CE-B-3 (Chugiak-Eagle River General Business) District for Lot 101B, Old Glenn Subdivision (Plat 2024-47); generally located east of Lake Ridge Drive, south of Caspian Court, and north of the intersection of Old Glenn Highway and Fire Lake Drive, in Chugiak. Ordinance No. AO 2026-60, an ordinance amending the zoning map and approving the rezoning of approximately 0.97 acres from R-2M (Mixed Residential) District to I-1 (Light Industrial) District for T12N R4W SEC12 Parcel 21 (Plat P-341); generally located east of Runamuck Place, south of Strawberry Road, west of Minnesota Drive, and north of West Dimond Boulevard, in Anchorage. Ordinance No. AO 2026-61, an ordinance amending several sections of Anchorage Municipal Code Title 21 to correct errors, fix inconsistencies, and provide for better implementation of the Comprehensive Plan. (Planning and Zoning Commission Case No. 2026-0009). Planning Department.
Ordinance No. AO 2026-62, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 4.50 to enact a new section 4.50.120 and establish the Anchorage Public Safety Commission. Assembly Vice-Chair Brawley and Assembly Members Perez-Verdia and Rivera.
Ordinance No. AO 2026-69, an ordinance of the Anchorage Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 16.55 Anchorage Child Care Licensing Code to reduce burdens on licensed child care providers by repealing Sections 16.55.100, 16.55.150, 16.55.220, and 16.55.300; and amending Sections 16.55.030, 16.55.140, 16.55.210. Resolution No. AR 2026-115, a resolution approving a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Plumbers and Steamfitters, UA Local 367 (L367). Human Resources Department.
Resolution No. AR 2026-116, a resolution approving an Administrative Agreement (APDEA AA # 2026-01) between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Anchorage Police Department Employees Association (APDEA) regarding a change to collective bargaining agreement language. Human Resources Department.
Ordinance No. AO 2026-70, an ordinance of Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code 4.40.170 to address residency requirements for the MOA Trust Fund Board of Trustees, and time-limited, temporary service when the Chief Fiscal Officer is not available to serve. Ordinance No. AO 2026-71, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 21.05 and Section 21.45.350 (old code) to permit the retail sales of agricultural goods at large domestic animal facilities and waiving Planning and Zoning Commission review. Assembly Members McCormick and Johnson.
Resolution No. AR 2026-133, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding a new restaruant/eating place license #60421, for Pho Lotus, LLC DBA Pho Lotus located at 3826 Spenard Rd., Anchorage, AK 99517; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (Spenard Community Council), Assembly Chair Brawley.
Resolution No. AR 2026-134, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding a new restaruant/eating place license #60498, for MP2 Alaska, LLC DBA Pizza Hut Express-Airport located at 5000 W Intl. Airport Rd., South Terminal C2536, Anchorage, AK 99502; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (Sand Lake Community Council), Assembly Chair Brawley.
Resolution No. AR 2026-135, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding a new sporting activity or event license #60394 for Nana Management Services, LLC DBA Fine Arts Building located at 3700 Alumni Dr., Anchorage, AK 99508; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (University Area Community Council), Assembly Chair Brawley.
Resolution No. AR 2026-136, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding a new sporting activity or event license #60394 for Nana Management Services, LLC DBA Wendy Williamson Auditorium located at 2533 Providence Dr., Anchorage, AK 99508; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (University Area Community Council), Assembly Chair Brawley.
How to Testify: The Assembly receives public comments during Audience Participation, as well as public testimony on all open public hearing items.
The public may participate in person, through written comments, or by phone. There is no sign-up for in-person testimony - the Chair will invite the public to speak on a first come basis during the Assembly Meeting. Please do not sign up to provide phone testimony if you plan to attend in person.
