​NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARINGS:

The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of March 7, 2023.  The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali:   

Ordinance No. AO 2023-20, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 3.30 Personnel Rules to enact a parental leave benefit, Assembly Members Quinn-David, Zaletel, Chair LaFrance and Assembly Member Dern.  

​Ordinance No. AO 2023-21, an ordinance amending the Anchorage 2040 Land Use Plan and amending Anchorage Municipal Code section 21.01.080, Table 21.01-1 Comprehensive Plan Elements (Planning and Zoning Commission Case No. 2022-0133), Planning Department. 

Ordinance No. AO 2023-22, an ordinance amending the Our Downtown: Anchorage Downtown District Plan 2021 and amending Anchorage Municipal Code section 21.01.080, Table 21.01-1: Comprehensive Plan Elements (Planning and Zoning Commission Case No. 2022-0134), Planning Department. 

Ordinance No. AO 2023-23, an ordinance of the Anchorage Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Title 7, Purchasing and Contracts and Professional Services, Assembly Vice-Constant, Assembly Chair LaFrance and Assembly Member Zaletel. 

Ordinance No. AO 2023-24, an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code, Title 21 Section 21.09.050C., Accessory Uses (Girdwood) to restore some accessory dwelling unit regulations for Girdwood that were inadvertently and unintentionally removed by recent legislation, update some use requirements for consistency across the municipality, and waive Planning and Zoning Commission review for good cause, Assembly Members Zaletel and Volland.   

Ordinance No. AO 2023-25, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Sections 21.03.020 and 21.03.040 to update and improve the process for modification and/or expansion of licensed premises with a Special Land Use Permit for alcohol, amending related fees provisions at Anchorage Municipal Code of Regulations Section 21.20.002, and waiving the review and approval process for Title 21 amendments of Anchorage Municipal Code Section 21.03.210, Assembly Chair LaFrance, Assembly Vice-Chair Constant and Assembly Member Volland. 

Ordinance No. AO 2023-26, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Section 3.80.010 to update the functions of the Office of Emergency Management to reflect a public safety leadership role in guiding the Municipality to best practices in all areas of emergency management, Assembly Chair LaFrance, Assembly Members Perez-Verdia and Cross. 

Resolution No. AR 2023-60, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding a new Winery Liquor License #6109, for CsmAsm LLC dba 61 Degrees North Winery located at 5001 Arctic Blvd #101, Anchorage, AK 99503, pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (Midtown Community Council), Assembly Chair LaFrance, Assembly Vice-Chair Constant and Public Safety Committee Co-Chairs Perez-Verdia and Cross.    

Resolution No. AR 2023-61, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding the Transfer of Location and Ownership of Restaurant/Eating Place, Liquor License #6025, and Restaurant Designation Permit, for Alpenglow Coffee House llc dba Alpenglow Coffee House located at 140 Olympic Mountain Loop, Girdwood, AK 99587; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (Girdwood Board of Supervisors), Assembly Chair LaFrance, Assembly Vice-Chair Constant and Public Safety Committee Co-Chairs Perez-Verdia and Cross.  ​ 

Resolution No. AR 2023-62, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly stating its conditional protest regarding the renewal of Club Liquor License #1204, for Eagle River Post No. 9785, vfw of the United States DBA v.f.w. Post #9785 located at 10527 vfw Road, Eagle River, AK 99577; pending satisfaction of municipal requirements and authorizing the Municipal Clerk to take certain action (Eagle River Community Council), Assembly Chair LaFrance, Assembly Vice-Chair Constant and Public Safety Committee Co-Chairs Perez-Verdia and Cross.  ​

How to Testify: The Assembly receives public comments during Audience Participation, as well as public testimony on all open public hearing items.

The public may participate in person, through written comments, or by phone. There is no sign-up for in-person testimony - the Chair will invite the public to speak on a first come basis during the Assembly Meeting. Please do not sign up to provide phone testimony if you plan to attend in person.
