Fish and Manure Disposal
Fish and Horse Manure- oh my! We will gladly accept your fish carcasses and horse manure, together we can keep it out of the landfill and use it for composting and soil amendment. Please do not bag your items, leave it bulky and dump it right on the floor! $20 per truck $40 truck and trailer, 5 up to 4 bags, 5 gallon bucket is free. Have questions? Email compost@muni.org.
MRF Updates
The Materials Recovery Facility is now open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8:00-3:30pm. The purpose of the Materials Recovery facility is to divert materials from the landfill and utilize in another way. #lessinourlandfill

Wood Lots - Summer 2025
There are two wood lots:
1. Anchorage Regional Wood Lot
2. Materials Recovery Facility Central Wood Lot
Updates on the Materials Recovery Facility:
The Central Wood Lot is free for residential disposal of wildfire mitigation wood, all plastics can be disposed for $5 per trip regardless of how much per resident, organics $20 per truck or $40 truck and trailer.
The Anchorage Regional Landfill Woodlot is open for free to Anchorage residents starting this Saturday March 20 through October 31. Wood only for wildfire mitigation will be free, all lumber, building materials etc. will be charged a disposal fee. ***NEW PROCESS*** Please stop to weigh your load in, and please stop on your way out for a final weight. Thank you for helping to lower the fire danger in Anchorage! Please share.
