Administrative offices at SWS will be closed Monday, February 20th in observance of Presidents Day.

The Central Transfer Station and Anchorage Regional Landfill operations are unaffected (normal operating hours).

Refuse collection will be unaffected as well. Please have your refuse curbside by 7 a.m. Thank you.

Due to the costs associated with accepting credit and debit cards, SWS only accepts cash or check as payment when disposing of items at any of our facilities.

Solid Waste Services (SWS)

SWS is made up of two utilities – Refuse Collections and Solid Waste Disposal.   Refuse Collections provides residential and commercial trash collection for the City of Anchorage Service area.  Solid Waste Disposal operates the Municipality’s landfill and two transfer stations.

ALL LOADS MUST BE COVERED AND SECURED per AMC 26.80.50 (Loads not covered and secured are subject to a $10 to $30 Fine for all SWS Locations). COVERED LOADS MEAN CLEANER ROADS!

For your safety and well being, SWS requires all patrons to wear safety vests on the commercial side of CTS, and on the working face of the Anchorage Regional Landfill (ARL) at all times. Hard hats are recommended, but are not required. For questions regarding this policy, please call 343-6262.
