Community Safety and Development

Community Safety and Development (CSD)

The Municipality of Anchorage’s (MOA), Health and Human Services Department, Human Services, Housing and Community Services Division, Community Safety and Development's mission is to “strengthen the Municipality’s neighborhoods while building strong individuals, proud families and a vibrant community.” Community Safety and Development  administers the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)  Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) awards from the federal government, partners with citywide organizations to further affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate-income families, and engages neighborhoods in long-term community development planning.

Alaska Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention Program (ADVSAIP)

CSD administers the Alaska Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention Program in partnership with the Municipal Department of Law and the Anchorage Police Department.  The ADVSAIP partners work together to hold defendants accountable and to increase victim safety.
