How Can We Help You?

Animal Care & Control

Volunteering at Anchorage Animal
Care and Control

Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC) needs volunteers who enjoy working with people!

We are seeking those special few, those who want to help animals and people, to serve as AACC VOLUNTEER CAT ADOPTION COUNSELORS.  Cat adoption counselors interact with the shelter cats, introduce the cats to potential adopters and assist in making lifetime matches.  Our greatest need for cat adoption counselors are weekends, 10am to 6pm, and weeknights, 5 to 7pm.

Our AACC VOLUNTEER CAT PHOTOGRAPHER positions are also open.  These volunteers complete the same training as the cat adoption counselors; then, working under the guidance of the public relations coordinator, take pictures of adoptable cats for social media.  Hours are flexible and you must have your own digital camera.

So, if you enjoy introducing adopters to cats and cats to adopters, and/or taking pictures of cats, please read and complete the downloadable volunteer application.  Once completed, please submit your volunteer application either via mail (address below), email to premermr@muni.org or drop off at Customer Service.
