OVERVIEW

In 2014, the Abbott Loop Community Council asked the Parks and Recreation Department to begin planning for future improvements at Whisper Faith Kovach Park.  Specifically, the Community Council asked the Parks Department to develop a new off-leash dog park, improve safety and upgrade playground equipment.

In 2017, Anchorage voters passed the Park Bond which allocated $250,000 for Whisper Faith Kovach Park.  Additionally, the Anchorage Park Foundation awarded a $26,000 Challenge Grant to local park supporters to develop an off-leash dog park.
