The Korean American Community of Anchorage, Inc. is pleased and honored to invite the Anchorage Assembly to celebrate with us Korea Independence Day (National Liberation Day of Korea/Gwang Boke Jul). This is the 77th year of celebrating Korea's independence from Japanese colonial rule. Kwang Boke Jul (also known as August 15th) means “the day the light returned."

For the past two years, we have had to forgo this community celebration due to the COVID pandemic. This year, we are thankful for the opportunity to reconnect and strengthen our relationships and support for each other in person.
