| To Whom it may concern This comment is in regards to the proposed liquor store permit for the 530 building on Muldoon rd My husband, 2 kids and I have lived on Carin St, behind the building in question, for about 17 years. We have seen this building being used for a variety of businesses through the years and have experiences many issues that we have worked though. The cul du sac behind the 530 building is home to 4 duplexes and 1 single family home. Among them is several kids,an assisted living and several families. We, as a small neighborhood, already experience our share of property theft, vandalism, garbage/car dumping and people loitering/drinking behind this property. A liquor store would not improve these issues and we're afraid it would exacerbate the issue we already deal with. Also the 530 building doesn't offer enough parking in the front which will cause people to park short term behind the building or along the street. Parking here inevitably will block our mailboxes and fire hydrant and also emergency vehicles, which already happens. Ensuring our residential street doesn't turn into a short term parking lot will be extremely challenging, time consuming and frustration. Our small neighborhood also foresees even more issues with traffic driving through the small alley between the strip mall and 530 building. We already experience issues with people driving through here and having a business that hosts a high volume of people day in and out until 12am would only increase the issue we already face. We already have so many challenges living right off of Muldoon. I'm not familiar with zoning regulation but PLEASE PLEASE take into consideration that proposal is asking to put a liquor store literally into our front yards. This will put extra hardships with traffic, parking, blocking hydrants, mailboxes and public drinking right into our residential neighborhood. If this permit is granted PLEASE set up protections to address the above concerns. Real families, kids, individuals with special needs and neighbors are greatly affected by this proposal. PLEASE consider us! Please don't let go though. Would any of you want this in your front yard? Thanks for your consideration and time. Please contact me if you have any questions. | |

| This is a terrible location for a liquor store. The parking is very limited. This will surely cause problems with other commercial locations nearby, with neighbors less than a hundred feet to the west, with a bus stop directly south of the building along east 6th Avenue, and with parking on the shoulders of east 6th Avenue. If proposals such as this were needs tested it would surely fail. As others have said, there are plenty of other sources of alcohol in various forms within a few thousand feet of this location. Why a legitimate business such as Brown Jug would want to shoehorn their business into an obviously inappropriate location such as this is beyond my ability to understand. If you guys are “real city planners” (as I believe you are) and not political hacks, you will quickly dispatch this permit application by denying it. | |

| This is a terrible location for such a business. Your Assisted living home is directly behind this building. We have 5 frail wheel chair bound residents as well 2 houses down is another 5 resident assisted living home on a dead end avenue of Carin Place. There is only one way in and one way out. All the rest are residual homes. A church directly behind my building. There is a bus stop directly on the side this proposed location with consistent presents of derelict people dumping trash, public urinating and drunk. Police are called and arrest these derelicts on a weekly basis. With a liquor store here this illegal and disrupting behavior would immediately increase 10 fold. There is always a parking problem for this building, with very little in front people park in back on Carin Place which clogs up road access. The current location of Brown Jug on Muldoon has great parking and easy access and if this implying Brown Jug needs another Package Store only a couple of blocks away. Stop! Who would even consider such a proposal? Bottom line: This location of a Liquor Store would increase danger to all people trying to live in peace in this area. It would be an unleashed focal point for crime and all property values will suffer! My wife and I do not want any Alcohol or Marijuana sold at this location period! | |

| I oppose this application. Within 3000 feet of this location are at a minimum 3 full liquor stores, 2 gas stations with liquor stores, 2 bars, and several restaurants that serve alcohol. I'm sure there are other uses this location could be used for without a special use permit. | |
