please don't go ahead with this dump. it's not needed and is bad for our community

I strongly oppose the proposed re-zoning of this parcel from rural residential. I have been a resident of Chugiak for more than 30 years and DO not want to see increased traffic, increased noise or potential pollution of our delicate and currently pure, sweet ground water. Many of us have enjoyed the peace & quiet of our neighborhood for many many years- with brief interruptions from the railroad or small planes landing at Birchwood airport. To bring in light or other industrial uses would seriously negatively impact not only the quality of life here, but also our property values. I am a senior citizen and wish to continue my lifestyle in peace. I am asking that a comprehensive environmental impact statement evaluating impact on water, air and land be produced for this proposed plan before any further action is taken. Industrial activities should be kept with other already industrialized areas such as the Highland Landfill or the Eklutna power plant.

The zoning should not be changed to allow a dump of any Kind. Everyone in this area has wells for water since the city will not provide this area. If the wells are contaminated in anyway it would affect the whole area. Do not allow Eklutna Inc to use our neighborhood as a dump site. They have plenty of other land that is not populated that they can use.
