As President of the Old Seward/Ocean view CC, we are in opposition for this additional conditional use permit to the VFW. Our CC has drafted and passed multiple resolutions in opposition to the extension of this permit. We base our opposition on: continued noise issues, lack of control of alcoholic beverage control to minors or non members of a private club, and our testimony to the current Assembly CUP criteria they have placed on this permit. The current permit has a 1 year probation period that the permitee must comply with the issued CUP. While we as a CC are concerned with this period, we find it a little perplexing that the permitee now wants a change of the CUP that in our view is on probation. No where in the application is this validated, just the CUP 2010-130 case number. The application also states that the ration of food sales to alcohol beverage sales will be 100% alcoholic and 0% food sales. Also they do not state that the nearest home is approximately 25 feet from the back door of the VFW. Again we are in opposition to this amendment to an existing probationary CUP.
