| Why does the proposed telecommunications tower need to be 130 feet high? For comparison, the Hotel Captain Cook is 154 feet. | |

| The existing tower should be able to support multiple carriers. Hopefully, the decision to allow Verizon to construct a new tower is not based simply on generating additional Municipal revenue. Verizon would typically lease space on the tower, and the Muni would collect rent for the new land lease, or sublease. It would also be reasonable to require some form of tower camoflage; tree, flagpole, etc from the carriers. | |

| I am concerned the proposed location for the new cell tower will detract from the natural landscape of our community. As there is an existing tower, I strongly encourage negotiation to share the existing tower or consider placement in a less intrusive location. | |

| My family is opposed to the location of this new proposed tower. Please encourage all of the communication companies to co-locate with one another on towers to minimize the quantity of them in residential areas. The existing tower is seen from 6 windows in my home now and quite an eyesore. If co-location agreements can not be accomplished please consider a different location for the proposed tower (like on the backside of service high school where it can't be seen from existing homes). | |

| The Anchorage Assembly has postponed the approval of this lease to allow the petitioner (Verizon) to hold Public Hearings on this item and the proposed tower on Elmore and Huffman. We will eagerly await the opportunity to have a commmunity discussion about the appropriatness these structures in residential areas. | |

| My comments were not finished when they were "submitted" so this is a continuation of my comments....I request a Verizon knowledgable rep come to the Mid-Hillside/Hillside Comminity Councils meeting on 2/21/2013 at 7 pm at O'Malley Elementary School at Rockridge and O'Malley Rd.The Verizon rep could possibly answer any other questions that may arise. | I am President of Mid-Hillside Community Council but at this point these are my own comments.In previous discussions with MOA and Verizon staff,it was verified that the new cellphone tower is 100 feet in height and located in the fenced-in enclosure presently containing an AWWU water tank and an existing 80 foot cellphone ATT tower. I am concerned with the Verizon permit statement(made 7 times in the permit) that "There are(sic) no existing tower within the geographic area "....this not true as there is an ATT cellphone tower approximately 80 feet away in the same fenced-enclosure in which the new proposed Verizon 100 foot is to be located. There is presently an 80 ft cellphone tower that exists and another new 100 foot Verizon tower is to be installed in the same enclosure but aprroximately 50 feet further away from Abbott Rd. Would it be possible for the parties involved to work together so that when "the dust settles" there is only one cellphone tower | |
