Mobile Ticketing

People Mover mTicket is the mobile ticketing app for public transit services in Anchorage. You can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play and purchase tickets to use on the day of travel, or store them in the secure mobile wallet for future use. Tickets are purchased using a credit or debit card, or via digital wallets such as Masterpass and Apple Pay.

Smart Cards

Smart cards reduce boarding time and can be replaced when lost or stolen for a fee. The cards can be loaded with a 1-Week pass or 30-Day pass. Simply tap the card on the farebox when boarding.​ Download a Smart Card application here.

Riders age 19-59.

Half Fare

Half Fare includes seniors age 60 an​d over, Youth age 5-18, individuals with Medicare cards, and Veterans. Proof of eligibility required at each boarding. 

Accepted Proof of Eligibility

  • Seniors and Youth: Seniors and Youth may show a government issued photo ID to verify age.
  • Medicare: ​Individuals with Medicare cards may use their Medicare Cards with photo ID as proof of eligibility.
  • Veterans: Veterans may provide a government issued photo ID displaying the American flag or Veteran status, or use their VA Healthcare ID as proof of eligibility.
Seniors and Youth, individuals with Medicare cards, and Veterans may also ​complete and return the Instant Qualifier Half Fare Application with valid form of applicable proof of eligibility condition to the Customer Service Office to receive a Half Fare ID Card.

Individuals with qualifying disabilities must complete the Half Fare application process. Download an application​ or you may pick one up from Customer Service. Proof of eligibility required at each boarding.

Pass Replacement Policy

In the event of bus service cancellation, the Public Transportation Department will replace any activated or purchased bus passes that were valid during the affected time(s) of canceled service.

For each day of canceled service, customers will be provided a replacement pass equivalent to a one-day pass.

Customers have two (2) options to request replacement passes due to canceled service:

  • Visit the Downtown Customer Service Office in person to request replacement. (Proof of purchase is required.)
  • Call Customer Service at 907.343.6543 to request digital replacement passes purchased via the mTicket app.​
