The Spenard Community Recreation Center is a safe, family-friendly setting where all are welcome! The center offers a little bit of everything and there is sure to be something for everyone — join a class, play a game of basketball or pickleball, or relax in the sauna! What's in the Spenard Recreation Center?
Have you ever wondered what's in the Spenard Recreation Center? This facility boasts various amenities and spaces catering to different interests and events, and serves as a gathering place for the local community.
Full-size Gym
Gym includes a stunning wood floor, and is can be rented for hosting tournaments and recreational events.
Locker Rooms
Both the men's and women's locker rooms have showers and saunas available. Please stop by the front desk to check in before using them.
- Showers: $3 per use (30-minute limit). Please bring your own shampoo, soap, and towel as we do not offer materials on site. Final entry for showers is 6:30 PM.
- Saunas: Saunas are dry and do not produce steam. Saunas are not preheated, please plan to arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow for preheating, which takes 5–10 minutes to reach max heat. Sessions are limited to 30 minutes, and proper attire is required. Final entry for saunas is 6:30 PM. Requires a completed waiver to use.
- Locks: Locks may not be left overnight.
Racquetball Courts
Our facility offers two courts, providing a space for playing racquetball or wallyball. To ensure availability, these courts must be reserved in advance. Give us a call at 907-343-4160 to reserve.
Weight Room
Need a place to get a workout in? The space includes a variety of weight machines, elliptical machines, exercise bikes, and more. Individuals 16 and older are welcome with a signed parental waiver and parent/guardian present.
Multi-purpose Room
This versatile room is perfect for meetings, luncheons, receptions, and seminars, available for event rentals.
South Conference Room
An excellent space for meetings, birthday parties, and hosting small get togethers.
Game Room
Spacious room with a piano, television, pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, and space to study or connect with friends.
Martial Arts / Dance Studio
This large studio is perfect for martial arts classes, boxing, dancing, and yoga.

Spenard Community Council - Open general membership meeting held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Commission - Meets the second Thursday of the month from 6 - 8 p.m.
