Based on input from local partners and the Mountain View community, the operation of the Mountain View Community Center has transitioned from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska (BGCSAK), which has managed the facility since it opened in 1998, to the Anchorage Parks and Recreation Department.

General InformationEvent reservations
& facility use processes differ slightly from other MOA facilities because
our systems are still transitioning. However, community members can make event
or group rental reservations by calling the facility directly or visiting in-person
during operating hours.
Mountain View Community Center offers a variety of weekly and monthly programs, including the Stroller Moms Group on Tuesdays and Thursdays, step and fitness classes during center hours, the weekday Youth Program Monday-Friday from 2-6 PM (currently free, registration required), Campus Life on Tuesdays, Storytime with the Anchorage Public Library every fourth Friday at 3 PM, and a Diaper Pantry available on the first Thursday of each month from 12-4 PM.
Here's a typical after-school and gym schedule on any given day:
- 12-2:30 PM: Open to the public - stop by to ask questions and fill out registration forms
- 2:30–3:30 PM: Open Gym (scooters, basketball, volleyball, etc.)
- 3:30 PM: Power Hour begins for elementary students
- 4 PM: Middle school students arrive for Teen Time
- 4:30–5:30 PM: Dinner
- 6 PM: Facility closes
