Houseplants, A Guide to Varieties and Techniques
The Green Connection Master Gardeners are offering this class exploring a wide range of houseplant varieties using live, in-person examples of plants Green Connection commonly stocks and includes in designs. For all plant enthusiasts of all experience levels, we’ll discuss different plant types, understand their growth habits, and match them to the right indoor environments. Special focus will be given to proper placement within buildings, including lighting conditions, heat sources, and other environmental considerations that impact plant health. Attendees will leave with practical, experience-based techniques to confidently select and care for houseplants in both home and commercial spaces.

Peony's - A Cultivators Guide
Presented by Martha Lojewski, Executive Director Alaska Peony Cooperative in Willow, Alaska. This workshop covers all the things Peony lovers need to know to bring the sight, scents and beauty of the peony to their home garden. Commercial applications will also be discussed. You'll learn where to get Alaska Hardy roots, which varieties and flower forms are best for our climate, and which smell the sweetest!

Discover the art of bonsai in this hands-on workshop led by longtime florist Paul Marmora, past president of the Cook Inlet Bonsai Study Group. In this two-hour class, you'll learn the fundamentals of bonsai care and design while working with your own miniature tree.
