Goose Lake Park Master Plan Update

Map of Goose Lake Park

Project Overview

A popular destination since the 1950s, Goose Lake is centrally located at Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive. The park includes a sandy beach, playgrounds, trails, a basketball court, and a picnic pavilion. It also contains wetland and upland forests, native plants, and wildlife habitat. Park users enjoy a groomed Nordic ski loop on the lake when conditions allow.

After the 2018 earthquake, the Municipality determined that the lakeside facility was unsafe for public use. A new Master Plan will ask the community what would make this park great for future generations and how we should prioritize park improvements.
