Goose Lake Park Master Plan Update

Project Overview

Anchorage Parks and Recreation is seeking input from the public to update the Master Plan for Goose Lake Park. Funding is available for park improvements from the voter-approved 2025 Parks bond.
Map of Goose Lake Park
A popular destination since the 1950s, Goose Lake is centrally located at Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive. The park includes a sandy beach, playgrounds, trails, a basketball court, and a picnic pavilion. It also contains wetland and upland forests, native plants, and wildlife habitat. Park users enjoy a groomed Nordic ski loop on the lake when conditions allow.

After the 2018 earthquake, the Municipality determined that the lakeside facility was unsafe for public use. A new Master Plan will ask the community what would make this park great for future generations and how we should prioritize park improvements.
