Anchorage, AK – Today, Mayor Dave Bronson announced that he will be holding a town hall event to hear the public's thoughts and concerns regarding the Assembly's proposed plan to purchase and turn the Arctic Recreation Center into a homeless shelter.

WHAT: Town hall event to hear from residents, business owners, and community members who would be impacted by the Anchorage Assembly's plan to purchase the Arctic Recreation Center for nearly $13 million, with the intent of turning it into a year-round homeless shelter. The Assembly has indicated they have been lobbying for this proposal to State Legislators in Juneau and envisions both a homeless shelter and low-income housing on the property of the Arctic Recreation Center.
WHERE: The Arctic Recreation Center, located at 4855 Arctic Blvd, Anchorage, AK 99503. The event will be inside the gym of the facility.
