Data Systems
The AFD Data System section provides technological solutions to support the Anchorage Fire Department's daily and long-term information needs, with emphasis on GIS-based computer-aided dispatch, records management systems, and Web-based information sharing, across an enterprise-wide system of hardware and software programs.
Fleet Maintenance
The Anchorage Fire Department Maintenance Shop maintains and services emergency response apparatus and all mobile vehicles and specialty equipment for Anchorage Fire Department, Chugiak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, and Girdwood Fire Department. This includes a fleet of 24 ambulances, 26 engines (pumpers), 7 ladder trucks, 13 water tenders, 12 specialty apparatus, as well as more than 80 small vehicles, watercraft, trailers, compressors, and other miscellaneous equipment. All mechanics are certified Emergency Vehicle Technicians.
