The AFD Finance office is responsible for budget management, emergency service billing, emergency service reports requests, department procurement, accounts payable, and employee payroll.
Beginning April 1, 2024 the Billing department will begin charging for records requests. For Fire Requests Insurance Companies, Neighbors, or other varying entities may be charged. For EMS Records Law/Attorney Offices, public requests not related to insurance, or other varying entities may be charged.
Municipal Code 3.90.002 – Copying Charges will be used as the fee schedule, please see below:
| Request resulting in 5 pages or less and requiring no more than 15 minutes of employee time to search or and retrieve: | $6.00 |
| Requests resulting in more than 5 pages or more than 15 minutes of employee time to search for, redact as necessary, and retrieve: | $0.30 per page plus research and retrieval charges per section 3.90.005 |
| Incident Reports | $5.00 |
| Audio tape | $10.00 |
| CD (photos, PDF, and small audio files) | $15.00 each |
| Audio tape, duplicate copy | $2.00 |

False Fire Alarm Disputes
- If you wish to dispute the charge, you have 30 days from the date of the invoice. All disputes must be in writing, dated, and signed with the specific reason for the dispute. Please mail or hand deliver to 100 E 4th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501. The request will automatically be denied if it is greater than 30 days.
