Task Force to Host Community Workshop

7/24/2025

The Task Force to Reimagine the Public Safety Advisory Commission will host a Community Workshop to hear directly from Anchorage residents about what safety and well-being mean to them, and how public safety systems can best serve the community.

The free, public Community Workshop, facilitated by Denali Daniels and Associates, will provide a forum for open, honest and constructive dialogue about public safety system perceptions and community safety needs in Anchorage.

The Task Force was created to help shape a new vision for a Municipal public safety commission. Insights from this workshop will directly inform how public safety is defined within that vision and in guiding the focus of future meetings.

“Anchorage’s public safety systems should reflect the values and needs of the people they serve,” said Assembly Member Felix Rivera. “As the Task Force embarks on this work, we will start by asking what public safety means to our community.”
