Task Force to Begin Next Phase

9/5/2025

The Task Force to Reimagine the Public Safety Advisory Commission (PSAC) has completed its initial discovery phase and will now begin the second phase focused on decision-making to craft its recommendations to the Anchorage Assembly.

During the first phase, the Task Force hosted an introductory meeting, collected feedback through an online feedback form, convened a community workshop, and published an overview document that includes background information on the former PSAC, links to a variety of resources, themes from the discovery phase, and the Task Force workplan. This foundation has informed the next stage of the process which focuses on structured learning, public dialogue, and collaborative decision-making. Based on feedback from the first phase, the Task Force is also expanding opportunities for community involvement in Phase 2.

Upcoming Phase 2 Activities
Members of the public are invited to participate alongside Task Force members during the decision-making phase, ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented in the recommendations. This restructured approach is designed to balance informed discussion with meaningful community input. To vote in the deliberation sessions, participants must have attended at least one other meeting during Phase 2.
