Filing for Office for the April 7, 2026 Regular Municipal Election Closes

The last day to file for office for the April 7, 2026 Regular Municipal Election is Friday, January 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Candidate filing forms are available at muni.org/elections. Forms are also available at the MOA Election Center, 619 E. Ship Creek Avenue, Door D, and at the Municipal Clerk's Office at City Hall, 632 West 6th Ave., Suite 250, in the hallway. Filing for office opened on Friday, January 16th.
Candidates may file at the Election Center between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday or at the Municipal Clerk's Office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Tuesday-Friday. Candidates may also return their notarized filing paperwork by email (elections@anchorageak.gov) or fax (907-343-4313).
Offices on the 2026 ballot include:
- Assembly Seat B – North Anchorage
- Assembly Seat C – Chugiak, Eagle River, JBER
- Assembly Seat E – West Anchorage
- Assembly Seat G – Midtown Anchorage
- Assembly Seat I – East Anchorage
- Assembly Seat K – South Anchorage, Girdwood, Turnagain
- School Board Seat C
- School Board Seat D
- Various Service Area Board of Supervisor seats.

The April 7, 2026 Regular Municipal Election is a Vote at Home election where qualified registered voters will be mailed a ballot package at least 21 days before Election Day. Voters will have the opportunity to study the ballot with trusted resources, mark their choices, read and sign the voter declaration, and return their ballot by placing it in one of 18 secure drop boxes, bringing it to an Anchorage Vote Center, or by mailing it through the USPS with first-class postage. ###
