AnchorRIDES Fares and Donations
ADA FARES (Effective 10/1/05)
Riders taking trips under the ADA program are required to pay a fare for each trip taken on AnchorRIDES. Fares are to be deposited in the farebox on the vehicle. Drivers are to avoid handling passenger fares, so please drop the fare in the farebox yourself or observe the driver put the fare into the farebox.
Core area $3.00 each way ($6.00 round trip)
Premium area * $4.50 each way ($9.00 round trip)
PCA Free when pre-approved in your eligibility status
First Guest Same as eligible rider
Additional Guests $15.00
* There is an additional surcharge of $1.50 for trips with a pick-up or drop off that is more than 3/4 of a mile of a fixed route. This premium service will affect the Anchorage hillside, areas west of and Lake Otis Road and an area south of Campbell Lake and West of Hilltop Drive/Tower Road
Booklets of 20 ticket coupons may be purchased for $60.00 by:
- Visiting the AnchorRIDES office at 9525 King Street.
- Asking the AnchorRIDES driver as you get picked up and pay by exact cash or check.
- Visiting the downtown transit center at 700 W. 6th Avenue.
- Calling 562-8444 and set up payment by credit card.
SENIOR CITIZEN FARES AND DONATIONS (Effective 10/1/05)
Trips for the purposes of medical, pharmacy, senior meal sites, adult day care, senior support services, paid and volunteer employment do not require a fare, but rely on rider donations. AnchorRIDES suggests a donation be made that is equal to fares paid by other riders. If you are unable to make the suggested donation, we appreciate any amount you are able to contribute. Personal care attendant (PCA) travels free when pre-approved as part of your eligibility status.
Trips for shopping, entertainment, personal health and grooming and other community access require the following fares:
Core area $3.00 each way ($6.00 round trip)
Premium area $4.50 each way ($9.00 round trip)

MEDICAID WAIVER FARES
Riders taking pre-authorized trips under the Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver program do not have a fare or donation to pay. Medicaid covers the cost of the pre-authorized trips. If a rider exceeds the allowed number of pre-authorized trips, first we will attempt to schedule the rider with another AnchorRIDES program that the rider may be eligible for and charge the appropriate fare or donation amount. If the rider is only eligible under the Medicaid Waiver program, he or she will be denied trip requests that exceed the pre-authorized level.
