Applying for AnchorRIDES
There are three ways to get an application:
- Call the Municipal AnchorRIDES office at 343-7433 to have an application sent by mailed or faxed.
- Pick up an application at the Municipal AnchorRIDES office at 700 W. 6th Ave., Suite 109, which is located on the first floor of the parking garage on 6th Ave. and G Street.
- Go to the online "application form" (pdf file 532 kb) and fill it out now!
Complete and sign the application, include the name and address of a health care professional who is familiar with your disability, and return the application by mail, by fax, or in person to the location shown on the first page. Please specify if you are interested in applying for services as an ADA rider or a Senior Citizens rider and the appropriate application form will be sent.
ADA Eligibility Process for People with Disabilities
An application, in-person assessment, and professional verification of the person's disabling condition(s) are used to determine ADA Paratransit eligibility. An applicant must complete and return an ADA Paratransit application to the Municipality of Anchorage AnchorRIDES office to begin the eligibility process.
An assessment appointment will be scheduled. Parking validation for the 6th Ave. parking garage is available for up to 2 hours if using a private vehicle to the appointment. Transportation on AnchorRIDES is available for $3.00 each way for the assessment appointment.
A final determination is made upon completion of the assessment and verification. Applicants receive eligibility notification by mail. If an eligibility determination is not made within 21 days, temporary AnchorRIDES eligibility will be issued a decision is made.
