Eagle River Area Street
Maintenance
The Chugiak, Birchwood, Eagle River Rural Road Service Area (CBERRRSA) has over 350 lane miles of roadway. A Service Area Board comprised of representatives from each community council in the area advises the
Municipality on the level and type of road services desired by service area residents.
Private contractors, which are scheduled and directed by Municipality of Anchorage (M.O.A.) personnel, provide the actual street maintenance services within the CBERRRSA. Contract plowing crews are dispatched to begin plowing main and collector routes shortly after a total accumulation of 2 inches or more of snow, and will continue until the snowfall has ceased. The remaining side streets will only be plowed after a total accumulation of 3-5 inches and will be completed within 24 hours of dispatching contract equipment.
As established by the CBERRRSA Road Board, the clearing of all driveway and mailbox snow berms is the sole responsibility of each property owner.
For routine service requests or questions, you may call the Eagle River Street Maintenance Office at 694-3487 during normal office hours Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 P.M.
For emergencies only, you may call 694-3485 and leave a brief message. You will be contacted as soon as a street maintenance supervisor is paged.
Please drive carefully.
