Public Artist Registry Opportunity
The Municipality of Anchorage 1% for Art Program has a digital Public Artist Registry for artists working in Alaska interested in submitting their images to be used in 1% for Art Programs.
This registry serves as a resource for projects under the 1% for Art ordinance in Anchorage and several other districts and boroughs. Each artist’s file should include a current resume, ten (10) digital images, and an image identification sheet and the attached form.
Sometimes, rather than holding an open competition, a jury may decide to have a limited competition or invite specific artists in specific art forms. In this case, the Public Artist Registry will be the primary resource for the members of the art selection juries and selected artists will be contacted based on the information present in their file. The public also has access to the Public Artist Registry upon appointment.
All professional artists currently residing and working in Alaska may apply to the Public Art Registry by filling out an application. All mediums are welcome.
The 1% for Art Program also manages an out of state registry for artists interested in working in Alaska. Often these images are shown to demonstrate examples of artwork beyond Alaska. Please use the same form and your information will be place in that registry.
For additional information regarding this application or the use of information contained in the Public Artist Registry, please contact Jocelyn Young at phone: (907) 343-6473 or email: youngjh@muni.org.
