Commission Member Biographies: Mark T. Mew Anchorage Public Safety Advisory Commission member since 2004; staff support 1997-2003 Born in Whittier, California Alaska resident since 1982 Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, University of Oregon; Graduate of FBI National Academy, Anchorage Police Academy, and Oregon Police Academy (Corrections) Mark currently serves as the Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness for the Anchorage School District.  Previously, he served as Deputy Chief for the Anchorage Police Department before retiring.  Mark’s other interests include hiking, hunting, fishing, diving, boating, fencing, reading, music, and other family activities.
