Residential Collector Street Standards Update

The design standards used for the development of residential collector streets are being updated. Residential Collector streets are identified in the Official Streets and Highways Plan and their primary function is to collect traffic from local streets and connect traffic to other collector and arterial streets. Issues being evaluated include lane requirements and widths, pedestrian facility trail and sidewalk needs and widths, pedestrian facility separation of driving lanes, snow storage, intersection site distance, drainage, lighting, and landscaping. Discussion of standards for various adjacent land uses will also occur. For the latest information or to make comments, use the email link (OswaldRH@muni.org).
