Q: What projects are scheduled for my neighborhood?
A: The project information tab to the left is a direct link to current and proposed road, drainage, and safety projects. To find out if there are plans, type your street name in the search block. If the project is planned you will have detailed information and an email link to key project staff. You may also call us at 343-8135.
Q: How do I request a road, drainage, or safety project?
A: If you are interested in a project that is not on the list, click LamsonJL@muni.org to send an email to the Capital Program Coordinator requesting a project be considered. Please be sure to include a clear description of the project location and the specific problem. The request will be evaluated for inclusion in our Capital Improvement Program (CIP). If you'd line more information on the CIP process, click the project funding tab to the left.
Q: Who do I contact with questions or comments about road construction that's underway?
A: Most work on Anchorage roads is done by the Municipality of Anchorage, the State of Alaska, a private developer, or private contractors under right-of-way permits.
- To check on current Municipal road construction projects, click HERE or call 343-8135.
- To check on current State of Alaska road construction projects, go to the State Road Construction website by clicking HERE or call 511 or 1-800-478-7675.
- To check on current Private Development projects, contact the Private Development Supervisor at 343-8310.
- To check on current Right-of-Way Permit projects, contact the Right-of-Way Permit Center 343-8240.
Q: How do I initiate a Road Improvement District (RID)?
A: Detailed information on the RID program can be found on the Road Improvement Districts page by clicking HERE.
Q: Who do I contact about snow plowing, pothole patching, flooding in a road, dust control, or getting an icy intersection sanded?
A: The Street Maintenance Control Center can be reached at 343-8277.
Q: Who do I contact about traffic signals and road signs?
A: The Traffic Department can be reached by clicking the Traffic Department tab to the right or calling at 343-8406.
Q: Who do I contact about long-range transportation planning?
A: The Transportation Planning Division can be reached by clicking the Transportation Planning tab to the right.
