Port of Anchorage Maritime Memorial Information

The Anchorage Port Commission has launched a maritime memorial program to recognize individuals who helped to shape the Port of Anchorage and the Cook Inlet maritime industry since the Port’s opening in 1961.  The Memorial will be located at the newly constructed Security Command and Control facility on Roger Graves Road at the entrance to the Port.

The Memorial will consist of a plaque explaining the purpose for the Memorial and a list of the names of the individuals honored thereon. A more detailed explanation of what each individual has contributed to the Port of Anchorage will be made available for viewing inside the Security Office lobby. The plaque itself will be located in a park-like setting near the anchor and large ship’s propeller display, and the current flag poles.
