PARKS
The Municipality of Anchorage Parks and Recreation maintains, designs, and develops over 120 parks in the Anchorage, Girdwood, and Eagle River area. Thirty two of these parks have picnic shelters for the public to reserve for family outings. The parks have other amenities such as fields and playgrounds. Check the Map to see which parks have playground equipment, then see the corresponding number below to see the park name, location and recommended age groups. For a hard copy of Anchorage Parks & Trails Map, they are available for puchase at 120 Bragaw, Monday-Friday, 8-5pm.

TRAILS
Along with the extensive park system is an award-winning trail system allowing enthusiasts to enjoy walking, hiking, biking, orienteering, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, dog mushing and roller blading. In 1996 the American Hiking Society awarded Anchorage the designation of "Trail Town USA" . Remember these are your parks! Please report any vandalism on park property to the appropriate maintenance units listed above or call the Parks & Recreation Office at 343-4355, or send us an e-mail.
