Welcome to the Anchorage Multi-Use Athletic Fields Improvements Plan page!

Residents of Anchroage have a high rate of participation in summer athletic programs, including softball, baseball and soccer.   Anchorage currently has 25 multi-use sports fields. The challenge for the Parks & Recreation Department is determining how to provide quality multi-use fields to meet the increasing demand.

The Parks & Recreation has contracted with DOWL Engineers to prepare an Athletic Facility Inventory and Development Plan to provide guidance for renovation of existing fields and the development of additional fields to meet Anchorage’s growing demand for sport facilities. This plan will determine how facilities can be improved and how we can utilize all of Anchorage’s public fields and facilities in a sustainable manner while accommodating the growth in popularity of field sports.
