Parking Infraction Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is a Parking Infraction?

A. The lots operated by Anchorage Parking are checked regularly throughout the day, 7 days per week, to ensure that vehicles parked there have paid for the parking service, are parked properly, and are in the spaces allowed for either daily or monthly parking as permitted. Any vehicle parked in a space without payment or valid permit displayed, will receive a Notice of Parking Infraction from the Lot Patrol personnel. Every lot has signs indicating where and when vehicles may park and the daily or hourly rates for that lot.

Q. Can the Police give me a ticket in these lots?

A. Yes, APD can cite a vehicle for any violation of Municipal or State codes discovered in these lots.

Q. I parked in the lot across H Street from the Brewhouse to have lunch. The paybox was covered so I couldn't pay. Why did I get this Notice for parking there?

A. As noted on the cover you saw over the paybox, this lot is available for permit holders only during the business day. It is available to the public for evening parking at the rate noted on the sign. If a paybox is covered, you may not park there.
